First download the No$Gba emulator. Then download your game. Extract them. I suggest you organize your games so that you don’t have to search you computer every time.
This is only for DS games. GBA games start directly without any problems.
Open No$gba (triangular icon). It’ll ask you to Insert Cartridge. Just browse and select your game. It’ll start. In most situations it’ll say-
” Data could not be read. Please turn the power off and reinsert the DS Card. ” (or something similar)
If it doesn’t, don’t just go play the game. Click on ‘Options’ and then ‘Emulation Options’. Whatever you do now will only be have to done once except the ||NDS Cartridge Backup Media. You’ll have to change it according to the game you are playing.
The options will be:
1. ||Emulation Speed, LCD Refresh||
For best play, select ||Realtime, Auto
If gameplay is slow, select
||Unlimited MHz Disaster, 100% (Fast)
||Unlimited MHz Disaster, 50% (Faster)
||Unlimited MHz Disaster, 10% (Fastest)
2. Reset/Startup Entrypoint
You don’t need to bother with this.
3. Video Output
Just make sure it’s 24bit True Colour
4. 3D Renderer
Most games require option ||nocash
But some popular games like Pokemon D/P and FIFA 08 require ||opengl
Adjust it according to the quality of the graphics.
Don’t do anything to 4. & 5.
6. ||NDS Cartridge Backup Media
This is the most important one. Every game requires different Backup Media of for convenience Save Type. This option should be set according to your game.
To know which one your current game requires, go to the Downloads Page. Select the game you are playing.
See the option given for your game under the Save Type section. It’ll be best if you write them down.
Let everything else remain the same.
Now click on ‘OK’. Again click on options and now, ‘Control Options’. Set your required controls under the keyboard section. You could also set them up as:
Up, Down, Left, Right: Set them according to their respective arrow keys
Button A: Z
Button B: X
Button X: A
Button Y: S
Button L: C
Button R: V
Select: Backspace key
Start: Enter key
Once done select OK. Now select ‘Options’ again and select Save Options so that you don’t have to repeat the long procedure.
Click on ‘File’ and then select “Reset Cartridge”. Your game will start. Enjoy!!
